JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties and responsibilities are:

1. Responsible for the engineering functions associated with the manufacture of power cables and aluminium rod including :
1.1 Preparing and updating schedules for plant maintenance and equipment calibration.
1.2 Conducting and regulating equipment and machinery repairs and maintenance as and when reported or scheduled.

2. Responsible for ensuring that all employees under your control :
2.1 Conform to the procedures indicated in the Company Maintenance System.
2.2 Adequately trained and competent to carry out the duties and responsibilities of their appointment. To present to PM your proposal on the training needs of your department at the beginning of each year.
2.3 Adhere to the Company rules and regulations and Company policies and recognized Codes of Practice related to personnel matters.

3. Comply with the Co’s instructions for reporting on health and safety. Investigate all serious accidents occurrence involving man and equipment.

4. Ensure that you operate within the budget levels for labor and finance.

5. Assist in the preparation and presentation of the annual Management Plan and Budget.

6. Report any deviation from the local government legislation and other relevant statutory provisions concerning Factories and Machinery, Safety, Health and Environment. To organize and liaise with the relevant authorities on machinery/plant requiring inspection and/or approvals.

7. Assist in the auditing the Quality assurance system when requested by the Quality Assurance Manager and be an active member of the Quality Works Council.

8. Assist in the Company quarterly and annual stocktaking exercises.

9. Liaise with the relevant personnel to achieve target dates for factory expansion and installation of any new machines.

10. To assist in and perform any other duties as determined by the Plant Manager which can be considered beneficial to the Company and within own capabilities without detriment or injury to own self.

Requirements:
Candidates must posses at least a Bachelor Degree Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent
At least 7 years of working experience and minimum 3 years at management level
Preferably Managers specializing in Maintenance /Repair (facility and machinery) in manufacturing environment
